The Black Sea Coast - Romania
Ovidiu at Delta Camping recommended Wild Beach, Vadu, and listed some sights to see on the way.
We spent 3 nights at Vadu, 2 with Jürgen & Brid, who we'd met at Delta Camping, and enjoyed being lazy in the spring sunshine. The last 2 kilometers to the beach were unsurfaced and bumpy, but it was worth the trouble: the beach was almost empty and completely unspoilt. There was an amaring number of shells, quite a few (friendly) stray dogs and wild tortoises.
After the relative solitude of Vadu, we felt no compulsion to stop at Constanta and the other Romanian Black Sea resorts, with their blocks of condominiums fand large hotels.
Route
From Murighiol we headed south passing through Sarichiol, a Russian Enclave and stopping at The Enisala Fortress, Tabăra de Pictură (Greek & Roman ruins) and Histria (unfortunately it closed 5 minutes before we arrived), on the way to the Wild Beach, Vadu.
