There were 604 participants in 18 categories: men from 35+ to 80+, women from 35+ to 70+. It was an excellent location, with 35 courts, including 2 glass courts with seating for over 100 spectators. There were 62 participants in the mens 60+ category, so all players had 6 games, except the top 2 seeds, who had byes in the firt round.

I understood that on Wednesday only qualfiers would be played, and the main tournament would start on the Thursday, but when I saw the draw on the evening of Tuesday 26th, as we were preparing to spend the night in Bastei, I realised I had 2 games on Wedneday. So we headed straight for Wroclaw, arriving at 10:30 pm!

From the club to Wroclaw Old Town takes 25 minutes with the bus or 36 minutes to walk (google directions). In fact we used Bolt, which depending on traffic took 10-20 minutes and cost €6-€10.

As I was not completely recovered from shingles, and couldn't put my full weight on my right leg, I was quite pleased to win 4 out of 6 games, losing only to David Febrer in the second round and Raimo Yliranto in the17th/18th place play-off.
