Bucharest

We arrived midday, and parked at Piata Presei (34Lei for 24 hours, with free wifi and video-surveillance) taking the 100 bus into the town centre (20 mins). A day ticket, including overground and underground transport (metro) cost 14 Lei. From the Iniversity square we walked first thorugh the old town, then to the Parliament building, and back to the old town for an ice cream and the Aperol Spritz with Romanian appetizers.

Bucharest is a lively, colourful city, with impressive buildings and lots of nice bars/restaurants in the old town, but the traffic is a nightmare, and food and drink costs a lot more than in the rest of Romania.

Next morning after a quick gassi, coffee and breakfast, we headed east towards Tulcea to see  the Danube Delta.
