Juliana Bike - August 2024
The Juliana Bike tour circumnavitages the majestic Triglav mountain, round the edge of the Triglav National Park. We planned our tour by downloading the GPX track from the Juliana Bike website, and splitting into a 6 day tour with stops adjusted to match available accomodation. Link to Komoot Collection.
Bovec
Day 1 is from Dovje (north of Triglav and close to the motorway) heading east then south, anti-clockwise round the Triglav, to Bovec.
Most Na Soci
Day 2 follows the Soca River, making detours up to Kosec and Pretovc, then following the River Tolminka until it joins the Soca, just before Most na Soci.
Podbrdo
Day 3 leaves the soca Valley, climbing up towards the mountain Porezan, then down to cross the Baca river. To get to the only available accomodation, there's a 160m climb to finish the day, making it the day with the most ascent (1830m).
Bohinj
Day 4 winds towardsa nd around the Lajnar before a long deescent to Bohinj. Day 5 zig-zags back to Dovje, and Day 6 is just a 440m, 12km return trip up to the Aljaž Lodge in the Vrata Valley.
