NC500 Day 5: Durness-Lochinver-Ardvreck Castle
Todays drive took us through some of the finest scenery in the Scottish Highlands: cutting across from Durness through Riconich and Laxford Bridge, where we saw Highland Coos grazing to Scourie, with lovely beach. Then over Kylesku Bridge. We took the alternative route for large motor homes to Ardvreck Castle, unfortunately missing Brumbeg and Clashnessie Falls, but then took the A832 to Lochinver, to enjoy the world famous pies at the Lochinver Larder, and enjoy the pretty fishing town. The weather was perfect 20°C, clear blue skies.
While Esther and Josie had a lazy afternoon, I did an MTB rise towards Stoer Lighthouse, covering part of the NC500 we'd missed.
When I got back, we headed back to park close to, and enjoy the sunset at Arcvreck Castle.

Not a cloud in the Sky!
.... again, a small selection of our pictures, which can't possibly do the majestic scenery justice.
